In upcoming years our society is facing huge challenges such as more and bigger refugees streams, resource scarcity, pollution, extreme weather, food insecurity and 2.5 billion new citizens in 2050. For dealing with these challenges we need collaborations between governments, companies, knowledge institutes, students and young professionals who will the ‘Next Economy’.
The Next Economy contains developments like the internet of things, big data, robots, open source innovation, reneweable energy and cleantech. These developments can be supportive in dealing with the huge challenges our society is facing. For this reason the participants of the Rotterdam 100 will focus on generating and implementing innovative ideas that will establish The Next Economy in the city of Rotterdam.
