This year’s
Resilient City Edition
program

Application Phase

This year, we looked for Dutch/international students residing in the Netherlands, eager to make an impact and willing to create a more resilient enviroment together with a network of top companies. We, the Rotterdam100- team were actively recruiting potential candiates all over the country. After handpicking the talents we invited them to the Selection Day.

Selection Day

The people who made it to the Selection Day, all deserve a big congratulations! During this day you found dream team in order to crack the case and got introduced to our Challengers: forward-looking firms eager to have met you. Alongside inspiring talks, there were meet & greets with the Challengers. Based on these, you were placed in one of the Challengers’ “Talent Teams”. With the other talented students in your team, you tried to solve your Challenger’s case: a wicked problem that ranged from health to tech to sustainability.

24H Creation Battle

Game on! One team. One case. 24 hours. Looking out over the Rotterdam skyline, seeing the sun setting and rising, the Rotterdam100- candidates were creating a solution to their Challenger’s case. They were entertained with motivational talks from leading figures in business, top-notch catering, a midnight workout and a morning Haka to keep their minds sharp!

Inhouse Day

To enchance the Rotterdam100-experience, we arranged an inhouse day for the canidates at the office of their Challenger! During this visit they learned about the operations of the company - it was a great opportunity to get to know more about the organisation.

Digital Masterclasses

Whilst finishing up the solution to their case, we organized inspiring talks for the canidates. Through digital keynotes and online support sessions, the candidates got the most out of their Rotterdam100 experience.

Grand Finale

All teams selected for the final competed in front of a jury to become Rotterdam's Most Excellent! This year’s winning team, Rabobank’s RABOOT took home a start-up track worth €10,000, the title “Rotterdam’s Most Excellent”, a letter of recommendation from Mayor Aboutaleb and a 3-day Alan McSmith Trail in South- Africa.
